HENNESSEY OPENS THE BOOKS UP FOR 1000 HP 2022 RAM TRX MAMMOTH

There’s been a lot of talk lately about bringing the wooly mammoth back into the world, by means of cloning. Seems exciting, to be sure. A massive, powerful creature once again roaming the tundra. However, if you preferred a warmer climate, like Texas, you may already have seen a Mammoth or two. Of course we’re referring to the Hennessey Mammoth, which is a 1,000 horsepower truck based on the Ram 1500 TRX.

The Mammoth TRX 1000

The Hennessey Mammoth is said to run customers around $150,000 USD, which includes the price of a Ram 1500 TRX required for the build. For 2021, HPE built 200 examples of these baddies, and that’s expected to stay the same for 2022. Speaking of, DuPont Registry posted that reservations for the 2022 model are now open. Orders for the 2022 model can be placed at many locations, including authorized Ram dealers, the Hennessey Performance website, or by calling the company directly.

Hennessey has given the TRX a slew of modifications and upgrades, including a high-flow 2.65L supercharger, fuel injectors, and a high-flow induction system alongside performance calibration. Altogether, it increases the output of the 6.2-liter V8 truck to 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft of torque, making the 0-60 of the TRX go from 4.5 seconds to 3.2 seconds which is supercar levels of acceleration in a package that weighs about 6,400 pounds. In combination with the Mammoth upgrade, Hennessey offers other options such as the Mammoth Off-road Stage 1 kit or the Stage 2 kit, adding a great many things to the truck, including a Mammoth Custom Front and Rear Bumper. The main difference between Stage 1 and 2 is the tire size added to the vehicle. Stage 1 gets a 35-inch tire, while Stage 2 gets a 37-inch tire. Hennessey also offers a 900 hp version, but we’re not sure what the point is. However, we do see a lot of point in a Hennessey Mammoth SUV.
