Wendy Williams Is 'Stable' & 'Fighting,' Her Brother Says After Daytime TV Icon Was Hospitalized For 'Psychiatric Services': 'It's Not Easy'

Daytime diva Wendy Williams’ brother Tommy is giving a health update after the TV host was hospitalized for mental health concerns.

“I really do believe and have the faith that Wendy’s going to make it,” he said in a video on social media. “We’ve been hit just like other families. You know it’s not easy [but] you got to dig yourself out, you got to hold on to the memories and we have some good ones.”

“It’s not an easy fight. It’s one that individuals always win. Sadly, come November, we are on the anniversary of my mother’s [Shirley Williams] passing,” he continued.

“It’s not easy. This isn’t easy but it’s necessary,” he added. “She’s doing well. Stable. I’ve spoken with her, and we’re hanging in there. She’s hanging in there. We’re praying. She’s fighting.”

OK! reported the 57-year-old talk show titan voluntarily went to the hospital last week after a 911 call was placed requesting “psychiatric services.”

On Thursday, September 9, The Wendy Williams Show host revealed she was hitting pause on scheduled job commitments to deal with some “ongoing health issues” and was “undergoing further evaluations.”

Days later, a statement was released declaring she had contracted the deadly virus. “While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” a statement read via her show’s Instagram account on Wednesday, September 15.

The statement continued: “To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4,” adding, “In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled.”

It is unclear exactly what is exactly wrong with the beloved TV icon, but she has been very open about her struggles with Graves disease — the disorder causes anxiety, tremors, as well as puffy or bulging eyes.
