Michigan’s Motor Bella automotive festival is happening this week, rain or shine. The event is taking place at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. The same private race track and event space that holds the Dodge-sponsored Roadkill Nights. It also serves as a stopgap to the twice-canceled North American International Auto Show, which would have taken place in Detroit. Despite the moving around, Michigan’s Big Three automakers will be enjoying their home field advantage, especially General Motors. While nothing new is expected to debut at Motor Bella from The General, there’s plenty to see that will represent GM’s wide bandwidth of performance and racing competencies, both present and future. Several Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette variants are set to be in attendance, as will the mighty GMC Hummer EV SUV.

The GMC Hummer SUV was first viewable to the public at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in May, but this will be the first time the electric SUV has made a public appearance in its home state. Production for both the SUV and the pickup will be at GM’s Factory Zero, née Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly, with reservations for the Launch Edition of both Hummer body styles already full. In addition, the electrified eCOPO Camaro drag racing concept from the 2018 SEMA Show is also supposed to be at the event. Other vehicles include:
- Corvette C8.R that placed second in GTE Pro at Le Mans
- NASCAR Next-Generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
- 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition
- 2022 Chevrolet Camaro COPO 572
“For decades, GM and Chevrolet have served as industry leaders in automotive innovation, continually pushing the limits of what new technology and precision engineering can bring to the racetrack, showroom, and the aftermarket,” General Motors Vice President of Performance, Motorsports, and Accessories Jim Campbell stated. We can also expect to see a product specialist on-site for all the vehicles on display at Motor Bella.
Motor Bella at the M1 Concourse will host media from September 21-22, and will open to the public September 23-26.
