Olivia Jade Giannulli Gets Roasted On Twitter After Claiming She's Best Known 'For Being An Influencer' During Controversial 'DWTS' Appearance

Twitter is having a field day with Olivia Jade Giannulli.

On Monday, September 20, the 21-year-old performed for the first time on the season premiere of Dancing With The Stars — and one of her comments on the show now has her trending on Twitter.

During the star’s introduction on the show, Giannulli made viewers at home laugh when she said, “I’m probably best known for being an influencer,” despite being in the headlines for years regarding her parent’s involvement in the college admission scandal.

She also admitted in the show that she had been “wrapped up in a scandal” but that she wasn’t “pulling the pity card,” and just wanted to prove her “strong work ethic” through dancing on the show.

However, users on Twitter haven’t been forgiving so far, and many have slammed the YouTuber for the “influencer” comment.

One user wrote on Twitter, “Olivia Jade on #DWTS: "I think I'm best known for being an influencer”. Nah, we all know what you're best known for and it's not that.”

Another wrote: “I love how Olivia Jade goes ‘I’m best known for being an influencer’ the typical viewer is a 25-55 year old woman, youre aunt Becky’s kid who she paid to get into college lol know your audience #DWTS.”

Others were upset that the disgraced star was paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, who is known for being one of the most beloved and talented professional dancers on the show.

“Olivia Jade getting one of the best dancing partners. What a shock. How much did Becky pay for him? #DWTS,” one user quipped.

Another critic lamented:, “The fact that dancing with the stars gave Olivia Jade arguably the best dancing partner offered on the show serves as proof that you can lie, cheat and scam your way through life... not cool for young generations watching. What a shame #DWTS #DancingWithTheStars

It’s no surprise that viewers are having a strong reaction to Giannulli’s first performance, as the internet previously erupted with backlash after she was announced as part of the new cast.

Many thought the self-pronounced influencer didn’t deserve to be featured on the show considering her parent’s legal drama involving the college admissions scandal.

As OK! previously reported, the star’s parents, Lori Loughlinand Mossimo Giannulli recently did jail time after bribing a college to get their daughters accepted.

The couple was convicted of paying $500,000 in bribes to have their daughter designated as recruits to the University of Southern California crew team — a sport the girls didn’t even participate in.

Giannulli previously said that she wanted to dance on DWTS to redeem herself. “I didn’t come on here to win people over...I just want to apologize for contributing to these social inequalities,” she said at the time.
