Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, released her new memoir, Yours Cruelly, Elvira, revealing a longtime relationship with partner, Teresa “T” Wierson.
Wierson and Peterson came together while dealing with respective divorces. Peterson soon came to find that Wierson’s presence made coping with her own divorce easier and that living together helped develop a very intimate friendship. Before Wierson, Peterson had never felt anything more than platonic love for women. However, she quickly began to fall for Wierson.
“I soon discovered that we connected sexually in a way I’d never experienced,” she wrote in her book.
The two kept their relationship private for 19 years, mostly because of Peterson’s career. The personae that Peterson curated, Elvira, had a passion for men.
