Netflix Orders 'That 90's Show' A Spinoff Of 'That 70's Show,' Kurtwood Smith & Debra Jo Rupp To Return As Red & Kitty Forman

Get ready to start "hangin' out down the street" again because a spinoff of the hit sitcom That 70's Show is currently in the works.

According toVariety, Netflix has ordered That 90's Show that will be an offshoot of the Fox comedy that launched the careers of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Topher Grace and Wilmer Valderramma.

The entertainment outlet also confirms that original cast members Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will return as parents Red and Kitty Forman.

The new show is set to have a 10 episode order and will stay true to the original show's a multi-cam sitcom format. No word on when the show is set to hit the platform.

According to the outlet, the series is set to take place in the year 1995 and will center around Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna [originally played by Topher Grace and Laura Prepon] as she visits her grandparents [Smith and Rupp] for the summer. During her visit she "bonds with a new generation of Point Place, WI, kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red."

The comedy will have the same creative team as original creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner are slated to return as writers and executive producers along with their daughter Lindsey Turner. Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner will also be back on board as EPs along with Smith and Rupp will executive produce and star in the series.

The original series made it's debut on the Fox network in 1998 and ran for 8 seasons until it went off the air in 2006.

The 200 episode comedy revolved around teen Eric Forman and his rag tag group of friends as they navigated adolescence in Point Place, Wisconsin in the late 1970's. The show was a prime time smash and garnered guest stars like Lindsay Lohan, Mary Tyler Moore, Brooke Shields andDwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
