Nebraska Wins Pair of Weekend Matches

10th-ranked Husker volleyball is the only Big Ten team undefeated in league play

No. 10 Nebraska (12-3, 6-0 Big Ten) won a pair of matches over the weekend to stay perfect in Big Ten play. The Huskers are the lone team still undefeated in league play.

On Friday night at No. 13 Penn State, Nebraska nearly took a 2-0 lead. Leading 20-19, the Huskers were unable to hold on as the Nittany Lions took the set 25-22.

But Nebraska used a tight 25-23 third set to take all the momentum into a match-sealing 25-17 fourth set.

Madi Kubik matched her season-high with 19 kills to go with 12 digs. Nicklin Hames added a season-high 49 assists while playing in her 100th career match.

Nebraska hit .244 to Penn State's .176.

On Sunday at Rutgers, Nebraska left no doubt. The Huskers dominated the match in a 25-19, 9, 12 sweep.

The Huskers hit .255 while holding the Scarlet Knights to just .042. Nebraska also tallied 10 service aces.

Next up is a home match Wednesday against Indiana.
