JEEP WRANGLER 4xe RUNNING IN 2021 REBELLE RALLY

The Rebelle Rally is a weeks-long off-road rally in the United States exclusive to women. All modern navigational equipment is banned, forcing participants only to use road books, a map, and a compass to navigate over 1,500 miles of the Nevada and California wilderness over the course of eight days. 18 of the 51 teams participating in the event are trusting a Jeep to help them get to the finish line.

Jeep North America President Jim Morrison stated, “The Jeep brand has proudly supported the Rebelle Rally since day one. Freedom, adventure, and capability are core to the Jeep brand’s values, and the Rebelle Rally is the epitome of adventure and capability. It’s the perfect venue to showcase our Jeep 4xe capability along with the capabilities of our female teams.”

The teams that will be driving Jeeps will either be driving the JL Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator. Three of the Jeep teams will be behind the wheel of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which has 21 miles of electric range and 49MPGe when using fuel.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe combines a 2.0-liter I-4 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The E select modes let the driver tailor the 4xe to their needs with the choice of hybrid, electric, and eSave, which conserves the battery pack for later use.

“Not only is the Wrangler 4xe powerful, but it’s also very versatile and efficient – all of these are critical attributes for success in the Rally,” Nena Barlow of team no. 129 stated. “With both electric and gas energy available, we won’t worry about range at all, even when I am gunning it in the dunes.”

Jeep Wranglers are known for being off-roading legends, and the 4xe version is no exception despite being a hybrid. The Rally will showcase the capability of the hybrid system, which is also found in the new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe teams will no doubt cross paths with the Ford Bronco Rebelle Rally teams, as well as the team fielding a Rivian R1T. For those looking to catch the action live, the rally posts up to the minute results here.
