UFC legend Chuck Liddell was arrested early Monday, October 11, after an alleged altercation with his wife.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at his home in Hidden Hills, Calif., “regarding a family disturbance.”
“Upon arrival deputies determined Chuck Liddell and his wife had been involved in a physical altercation,” the sheriff's department said, reported NBC News. “Mr. Liddell was arrested for domestic battery.” His wife reportedly did not require any medical attention at the time of his arrest.
The 51-year-old retired MMA fighter was booked into custody, where he reportedly remains in jail with a $20,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in L.A. Superior Court on Wednesday, October 13.
Liddell was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2009 and is revered as one of the most prolific fighters in history.
He is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion with high-profile victories over Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Vito Belfort and Wanderlei Silva.
Liddell — nicknamed “The Iceman” — retired from the UFC in 2010, before returning for a brief moment in 2018 before stepping away again.
The father-of-three was last spotted as the referee during the celebrity boxing match at Showboat in Atlantic city between popstar Aaron Carter and former athlete Lamar Odom.
Liddell met his wife Heidi Northcott in 2009 after a mutual pal set the two up on a date. He popped the question in 2010 and the duo wed a year later.
Northcott lives a relatively low profile life. After years of working in digital marketing she found her passion for poker. She is currently known as one of the best professional poker players in the world.
