Brian Laundrie Described As 'Social Outcast' By Close Friend Who Believes The Fugitive Might Reach Out To Him For Help

A close friend of Brian Laundrieis giving an inside look into his mysterious past.

The unnamed insider recently revealed that the missing 23-year-old — who is a person of interest in the death of his fiancé Gabby Petito — was a bit of a loner in his high school days.

Laundrie’s longtime friend told The Sun that the fugitive mostly kept to himself in social settings, and that he wasn’t interested in broadcasting his life on social media until he started dating the young influencer.

“These last two years were the most public and open he has ever been,” the friend revealed. “He’s a pretty disconnected off the grid type of guy, not the ‘selfie’ type.”

He also revealed that Laundrie had “zero friends” in middle school, and would sit at a lunch table with only two other people until he found a small friend group in high school.

He also mentioned that Laundrie used to be heavier, but he “cut his hair and lost weight in high school.”

“Brian was very quiet in school. He was a bit of an outcast when he was younger. He was just so to himself,” the friend recalled.

The friend also addressed the ongoing manhunt for Laundrie, admitting that he believes his pal would do whatever it takes to avoid an arrest. “He’s the type of person that would be able to drop everything to secure his means of not being captured to evade arrest or evade prosecution from what seems to be a pending crime,” he said.

Laundrie’s friend, who became close to the fugitive in high school, is concerned that the missing person of interest might reach out to his buddy for help soon, a possibility that the friend says “freaks him out.”

“The reason it would be me is his other friends were also very close with Gabby, but I was just very close with him,” the friend said. “He might think I wouldn’t hold some stigma or I wouldn’t care about the matter.”

The friend also admitted in the interview that he has been on edge lately, saying that his “heart drops” whenever he gets a call from an unknown number.

“I just think it’s gonna be him on the other side, you never know,” he added.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to search for Laundrie, who was last seen on September 13, nearly two weeks after he returned from his cross-country trip without Petito.

The 22-year-old YouTuber’s body was found on September 19 in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where the couple had been visiting weeks before.

Petito’s death has been ruled as a homicide, although no further details regarding her death have been revealed. Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue is expected to deliver the official results of the autopsy on Tuesday, October 12.
