Adele is no longer 21 years old, but she certainly remembers where she was at in life when writing her second album.
The "Easy On Me" songstress reflected on her 2011 album 21 while being featured for Vogue's "73 Questions" in a video published on Thursday, October 21.
When asked by the videographer what her diaries from the time she was writing the music for 21 looked like, Adele — who titled her first three albums after the ages she was when she recorded them — admitted, "drunk", "chaotic", "stressed" and "very, very sad". (Some of her hits from the album include "Rolling in the Deep," "Rumour Has It," and "Set Fire to the Rain," to name a few.)
When asked where the diaries for her second album are now, the mother-of-one replied, "They are all hidden in a handbag somewhere in my wardrobe room in London," comically adding: "I actually have no idea which [bag], so they can be missing for all I know."
Writing 21 seemed to have been quite an emotional journey for Adele, but she admitted nothing compared to her upcoming album, titled 30, set to be released on November 19.

After clarifying that making this album was the hardest thing she'd ever done, the Grammy-winning artist — who hasn't released new music in six years — revealed her new song, "Remedy", was definitely the easiest to write.
"I think probably because it's about my son," the 33-year-old speculated of her son Angelo, who she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki. The former flames were married for one year before calling it quits in April 2019. Their divorce was finalized two years later, with the judge signing off on their divorce settlement in March.
Despite the end of her marriage, Adele was able to use the pain from her relationship to inspire her new music. Reflecting on the duo's romance, she revealed their marriage didn't go down in flames, but rather burned out slowly.
“It just wasn't right for me anymore. I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew. I wasn't miserable miserable," Adele insisted to British Vogue earlier this month, "but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first.”
Using her own experiences, Adele said she hopes her first single from the album, "Easy on Me," can help others get in touch with their own vulnerability. “Hopefully it will encourage people to acknowledge how they’re feeling which I feel like we are all encouraged not to do," the artist shared.
On November 14 — five days before her highly-anticipated album is set to debut — CBS will air a two-hour event, titled Adele One Night Only, with the blonde beauty performing some of her old hits, as well as never-before-heard new material.
In addition, the hit-maker will also be sitting down with Oprah Winfrey as part of the special, to talk about the stories behind her music, life after divorce (Adele has been cozying up to new beau Rich Paul) and so much more.
