The 2023 Corvette Z06 0-60 time is just 2.6 seconds with the mighty Z07 package, according to a report from Road & Track. This makes the new Z06 the quickest Corvette ever, far and away, and one of the quickest accelerating RWD cars of all time.
By comparison, the 755 horsepower C7 Corvette ZR1 accelerates from 0-60 in a scant 2.85 seconds. Meanwhile, the C8 Z06’s little brother, the 495 hp Stingray Z51, is officially rated to accelerate from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. Outside of GM, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, The 992 Porsche 911 GT3 in 3.2 seconds, and the Ferrari F8 Tributo in 2.9 seconds.
A new Z06 would walk all of them.

The 0-60 record setter for RWD production gasoline cars remains the Dodge Demon from 2017, which did the deed in 2.1-seconds, when fully prepped. Absurd. Meanwhile, the Tesla Model S Plaid takes advantage of AWD and instantaneous torque to rocket from 0-60 in just 1.98 seconds, to hold the overall quickness title.
The C8 Corvette Z06 utilizes the latest in traction management control systems and software, an electronically limited slip differential, a unique 8-speed DCT calibration, and radically adhesive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires to achieve such a quick acceleration times.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 Driver Mode Selector is shared with the Stingray, and helps put 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque to the pavement from its 5.5L DOHC V8 LT6 engine through the following ways:
- Launch control: Available in Track mode for maximum off-the-line acceleration
- Active handling (StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control): Z06 has performance traction management standard
- Traction control: Weather mode tailors traction control and engine torque for driving in inclement conditions
- Performance Traction Management: Available in Track mode and offers five settings of torque reduction and brake intervention for track driving
- Electronic Limited Slip Differential: Adjusts the rate at which the limited slip engages to balance between steering response and stability in different driving conditions
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will begin production the summer of 2022, and will be sold globally in both RHD and LHD configurations, as well as coupe and convertible bodystyles. Hopefully we’ll see a Nurburgring time by then, too.
