No. 6 Nebraska Falls in Five at No. 11 Minnesota

The loss is the second-straight for Nebraska in Big Ten play.

The No. 6 Nebraska (16-5, 10-2 Big Ten) volleyball team dropped a second-straight match for the week Saturday.

The Huskers, fresh off being swept by No. 3 Wisconsin Wednesday, fell in five sets (22-25, 30-28, 21-25, 25-23, 9-15) at No. 11 Minnesota (14-6, 9-3).

Five Huskers had double-figure kills for the first time this season. Madi Kubik led the team with 15 kills, adding 14 digs for her fourth double-double of the season.

Also in double-figure kills were Lindsay Krause (12), Lauren Stivrins (12), Lexi Sun (12), and Kayla Caffey (11).

Nicklin Hames dished out 53 assists, a season-best. Her career total is now tied former Husker and current volunteer assistant coach Kelly Hunter for second all-time at Nebraska (4,125 assists).

Minnesota outhit Nebraska .169-.136 on the night.

Nebraska stays on the road at Illinois Thursday.
