Travis Scott is "absolutely devastated" following the tragic crowd surge at Astroworld Fest that left 8 dead and potentially hundreds injured.
The rap legend took to Twitter to release a statement about the terrifying incident that occurred during his performance Friday night at the Houston-based music festival.
"I am absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival," the 29-year-old wrote. "Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life."

"I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need," he continued. "Thanks you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their support. Love you all!"
This comes after OK! reported there have been 8 confirmed deaths in connection with the event, as well as 23 people rushed to the hospital — 11 in cardiac arrest — and at least 300 individuals treated at the on-site field hospital.
Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña stated in a press conference that trouble began around 9:15 p.m. when the crowd "began to compress" forward causing people to get crushed and otherwise injured.
"They were unable to escape that situation," the fire chief noted. "That sparked panic, and the situation worsened and overwhelmed security personnel there. People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic."
Local authorities are also currently investigating the shocking number of cardiac arrests that happened during the show with rumors buzzing that it had to do with the use of illicit substances.
Houston Police Chief Troy Finner claimed there had also been talks of “people injecting people with drugs” at the festival, but it is presently unknown exactly what happened that led to the "mass casualty event."
“Nobody could dream of this," the police chief admitted. "I think it’s important that no one speculates. We have none of the answers tonight.”
