Police in Ganderbal have seized huge quantity of illicit timber from forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling, a police party of PS Gund seized 21 logs of illicit timber from the forest area of village Hilpatti Hankar Gund.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 48/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Gund and further investigation set into motion. A police official said efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of crime.
A police spokesperson said that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold.
