This year’s offseason has been increasingly wild for fans of professional League of Legends in North America and Europe alike. Top tier players are moving down to regional play, there are imports and homecomings left, right, and center, and there seems to be no end to rumors and leaks.
The latest of these comes from G2 Esports’ jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, who seems to have accidentally revealed where his previous teammate, Martin “Wunder” Hansen, is headed.
Did Jankos leak Fnatic Wunder?
While commenting on the recent drama about Fnatic’s experience at Worlds, Jankos began talking about how he could empathize with not wanting to stay on a team where you’re not their first choice. When referring to Fnatic’s top laner Adam “Adam” Maanane leaving the team, Jankos said on stream that Fnatic has decided to sign Wunder instead so he can understand Adam’s sentiment.
Jankos continued on for a few seconds, saying he thinks Fnatic probably wants a more experienced top laner before noticing his Twitch chat exploding at the potentially leaked signing.
In true Jankos fashion, there were a few seconds where he went silent and stared at the camera, clearly trying to hide a nervous smile. Jankos quickly course-corrected and loudly asserted that his comments are based solely on rumors he’s heard. Jankos couldn’t keep himself from grinning, however, as he tried to perform potential damage control.
It’s certainly possible that Jankos knows official information about Wunder’s fate, but until there’s anything official, it’s just hearsay.
If it’s more than just rumors, this wouldn’t be the first time that Jankos casually dropped information most fans weren’t privy to. Should Wunder head to Fnatic, he will be part of a large revamp effort by the organization following an incredibly unfortunate Worlds run. The LEC will return on January 14, 2022, and fans can see if Jankos’ slip up was speculation or not.
