Nebraska Earns 10-Seed in NCAA Tournament, Hosts First and Second Rounds in Lincoln

The Huskers will begin their postseason run hosting Campbell on Friday.

Nebraska volleyball (21-7, 15-4) has earned the 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament and will be a host site for the first weekend.

The Huskers were given some love from the selection committee with their seed. Much of the decisionmaking around the NCAA Tournament involves the RPI rankings, which had Nebraska slated at No. 13.

Nebraska will host Campbell on Friday. The Camels won the Big South Conference and have an overall record of 21-9.

With a win, Nebraska would play the winner of Kansas State and Florida State on Saturday.

Should the Huskers advance past this first week, other national seeds on their side of the bracket include No. 2 Texas, No. 7 Kentucky and No. 15 Washington.

In the spring, the Longhorns eliminated the Huskers in four sets in the Regional Final.

The top four national seeds are No. 1 Louisville, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Pittsburgh and No. 4 Wisconsin. The undefeated Cardinals are coached by former Husker Dani Busboom Kelly. It is the program's first No. 1 national seed.

Besides Busboom Kelly, three other former Nebraska assistants under John Cook are in the field: Craig Skinner, Kentucky; Chris Tamas, Illinois; Kayla Banwarth, Ole Miss.

The Big Ten Conference landed eight teams in the tournament: No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 6 Purdue, No. 9 Ohio State, No. 10 Nebraska, No. 12 Minnesota, Michigan, Penn State and Illinois.
