US Citizens Returning From Abroad Will Be Required To Be Quarantined

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 30, 2021) – The Biden administration is reportedly planning not only to test and retest even U.S. citizens who return from anywhere abroad, but also to require them to quarantine for 7 days or face strict penalties.

But it is steadfastly refusing to require airline passengers to have even begun a Covid vaccine regimen, or show proof of a negative test before flying; a measure which would provide far more protection from Covid than wearing flimsy cloth masks which are taken off for eating and drinking, notes public interest law professor John Banzhaf, whose public health initiatives have saved millions of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars.

Especially since virtually all of his other anti-Covid measures have run their course or are tied up indefinitely in courts, Biden must do more than restrict airline travel into the U.S.; a move many commentators are pointing out is more of a sham than a serious health measure, especially since a major recent survey shows that almost 95% of all American want a vaccination requirement on all flights, and just such a requirement has worked very well in Canada, says Banzhaf.

It’s time for Biden to stop simply pleading with holdouts to get vaccinated, and impose some measures to give them an incentive to do so.

If presidents can require masks on airplanes, and ban even Americans from entering without tests and possible quarantines – all done in only a matter of days, and with virtually no serious legal challenges – there is no excuse from a president who promised to use all of his powers to protect the American people from Covid from further delaying this simple inevitable step, argues the law professor.
