Huskers Advance to Regionals on Seminole Sweep

Nebraska will play Illinois Thursday in Texas

Nebraska volleyball is off to the regional round for the 10th year in a row.

The 10th-seeded Huskers swept Florida State Saturday night 25-20, 22, 17.

Nebraska utilized a balanced attack with three players in double-figure kills and two others just shy. The Huskers hit .262 and held the Seminoles to .122.

Madi Kubik had a match-high 12 kills. Ally Batenhorst dominated the first set, cooling off late to finish with 11 kills on .308 hitting. Lauren Stivrins continued to be her dominant self, hitting .429 with 10 kills.

Nicklin Hames added a double-double with 39 assists and 12 digs. Kubik also completed a double-double with her 15 digs.

Saturday marked the final match in the Devaney Center for the season. With the win, Nebraska heads to Austin, Texas, where the Huskers will play Illinois Thursday. The two teams have met twice this season, with the Huskers sweeping both matches.

The other side of the regional is No. 2 Texas and either No. 15 Washington or Hawaii.
