Gabby Petito's mom is remembering every last moment with her daughter.
In a new preview for the new documentary The Muder of Gabby Petito: Truth Lies and Social Media, the late 22-year-old's mom, Nicole Schmidt, painfully remembered her last embrace with her daughter before she set out for the road trip that she would never return from.
"There's so many good memories over the years but the one thing that I hold dear to me is the hug that we had before she left for the trip in the driveway," the grieving mother says in the clip before breaking down in tears.
As OK! previously reported, Petito was traveling across the country with her fiancé Brian Laundrie when their road trip came to a tragic end. The YouTube creator was found dead in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming in September, over two weeks after Laundrie returned home to Florida without her.
Earlier in the video, Schmidt reflected on her daughter's life, stating, "People would meet her and just fall in love with her. She just had this presence…I don't know what it was — it was just magical."
Petito's father, Joe Petito, was also featured in the sneak peek, as he looked through old photos of his little girl. "That smile didn't change. Those eyes didn't change," he said while reflecting on a sweet photo of his smiling daughter. "Those eyes, they would get her out of so much trouble."
"It didn't matter how old she got, she would always be my baby girl," he said, adding that the photos are "all I have left now."
Days after her body was found, the coroner announced the manner of death as homicide by means of strangulation. Laundrie was the only person of interest before he was also found dead after being missing for a month.
The 23-year-old's cause of death was later ruled as a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
In a previous trailer for the upcoming documentary, Petito's step-dad Jim Schmidt called her disappearance and murder "every parent's nightmare." Her mom chimed in, saying the incident is "still unbelievable. I don't understand it."
The documentary is scheduled to air on Peacock on Friday, December 17.
