Kelly Clarkson was handed a legal blow!

After attempting to get her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, booted from their Montana ranch, a judge has reportedly ruled he can stay.

"Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded solely to her,” an insider squealed to UsWeekly. "He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce."

The 39-year-old American Idol winner pleaded to the court last month for her ex to be removed from the property, but her words fell on deaf ears. “The judge sided with Brandon and ruled in his favor, the order just hasn't been formally signed off on," the insider reportedly spilled.

The country home that the "Since U Been Gone" singer purchased in 2019 has been a contention in their messy divorce battle for quite some time. Despite a judge ruling in October it was Clarkson's sole property, Blackstock claimed in court he also had ownership of the home (despite the clear prenuptial agreement that says otherwise) citing he had quit his job as a music manager to work on the ranch full-time.

The judge previously awarded The Kelly Clarkson Show host the ranch and the two properties nearby.

As OK! previously reported, the Grammy winner’s prenup was held up in court despite Blackstock’s efforts to hold onto his share. The bombshell ruling confirmed Clarkson would be entitled to everything she earned and bought with her own money.

Sources at the time dished the mother-of-two was filming for The Voice when she heard about the court ruling in her favor, noting she let out a "scream" of joy. Pals Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande also reportedly celebrated the exciting news with her.

Clarkson and the 44-year-old talent agent — who share daughter River Rose, 7, and son Remington Alexander, 5 — split in June of 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The former flames' divorce was finalized in September.
