The George Street Playhouse has moved “Her Portmanteau” from January and February to later in the year.
Due to the COVID spike, the George Street has postponed its production of “Her Portmanteau,” a play about Nigerian American immigrants that had been scheduled for January and February at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center.
It will now take place in the fall, with the exact dates to be announced later.
George Street Playhouse artistic director Davd Saint said in a press release that the cast, directed by Laiona Michelle, “had already begun rehearsals and made spectacular progress, with special insight from playwright Mfoniso Udofia, who was able to join us via webcam as we began to explore this moving play.”
The next George Street Playhouse production will be “Baipás,” written by Jacobo Morales and directed by Julio Monge. It is scheduled to run from March 1 to March 20.
Tickets purchased for “Her Portmanteau” will be transferred to a date in the fall. For information, visit georgestreetplayhouse.org.
