THE FAST AND FURIOUS MOVIES WILL HAVE TO CARRY ON WITHOUT 'THE ROCK'

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stated that he would not return to the Fast and Furious franchise. In June last year, Johnson stated that he had told Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel in “firm yet cordial” fashion that he would not be returning. However, his stance remained unchanged after Diesel posted on Instagram that he wanted Johnson to return.

In a recent interview with CNN, Dwayne Johnson stated that he was “very surprised” by Diesel’s post, as it mentioned his children and the death of fellow Fast and Furious star Paul Walker. Johnson called it “an example of his manipulation.” Dwayne Johnson then went on to say, “I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter.”

Dwayne Johnson joined the cast for The Fast and Furious in 2011’s “Fast Five” as a government agent named Luke Hobbs. He then returned for the next three movies, as well as the spinoff film “Hobbs and Shaw,” which focused on his character along with Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw. However, Johnson didn’t appear in the most recent “F9” film.

The Fast and Furious: Future Movies

In June 2021, Vin Diesel confirmed in an interview that the Fast and Furious saga would still have two more movies. Considering that many fans have joked, stating, “What is this number 27?” we now know that there will only be 11 movies.

According to Motor Authority, the last two movies are scheduled to premiere in 2023 and 2024. Director Justin Line, who previously directed parts three through six, and F9 will be directing the final two movies and has indicated that they will be continuations of the story that started in F9. It seems we won’t be seeing the end of the Fast and Furious franchise as the eleventh movie will only mark the end of the main storyline. Vin Diesel previously stated that it wouldn’t be the end of the “Fast universe,” which indicates that we may see more spinoffs like Hobbs and Shaw in the future.
