Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce’s Mom, Makes Surprise Appearance At Chiefs Postgame Conference

KANSAS CITY, MO - DECEMBER 25: Tight end Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs enters the field during player introductions prior to the game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on December 25, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri.

It’s hard to be in two places at once—especially if you have two sons both playing in the NFL postseason on the same day. Donna Kelce made it happen, though.

Kelce, the mother (of the year?) of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Eagles center Jason Kelce, flew from Tampa to Kansas City on Sunday to catch both of her sons in action during Super Wild Card weekend.

She won’t have to pick rooting allegiances for a hypothetical Super Bowl matchup, as Jason’s Eagles fell to the Buccaneers, 31-15. However, she did get to see Travis and the Chiefs beat the Steelers, 42-21.

“We’ll go first to Donna Kelce,” a Chiefs staffer said during Sunday’s press conference, which resulted with Travis replying, “I’m sorry, what?”

“Yes, it’s your mom,” Donna said. “I actually made it. At a disappointing Tampa game, this was an elation to see you get a touchdown in a playoff game. Oh my gosh, how good did that feel? How good did that feel after all these years?”

Travis recorded his first career passing touchdown to receiver Byron Pringle in the fourth quarter.

“I used to tell my mom when I was five years old, that I was going to eventually throw a touchdown in the National Football League, I finally got it done,” Travis said. “It only took me nine years. That’s a good question though, mom.”

In addition to the TD throw, Kelce also caught one in the win.

The Kelce matriarch watched the game from a stadium suite with her KC player son’s longtime girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.

“Mama Kelce made it y’all,” Nicole posted Sunday night to Instagram.

The Chiefs are set to host the Bills next weekend in the AFC Divisional Round playoffs. There’s no word as to whether Donna will be in attendance at Arrowhead.
