What GM created in the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06 may not just be another world-beater – Corvettes often are – but one that truly hands it to its global competition that uses all of their tricks and techniques against them. A mid-engine layout? Check. A high-revving DOHC engine? You bet. Exotic looks? Absolutely. A motorsports pedigree? More than most.
Yet, for such a worldly worldly supercar, the C8 Corvette Z06 will still be built on an assembly line in Kentucky. The advantage here is of course democratizing such radical performance into a more accessible price range, which is something America does better than anybody else, by far. So don’t be surprised when a few of your neighbors end up with one.

When Chevrolet says “The World,” it means that the C8 Corvette Z06 is really going after supercars from three countries in Europe: the UK, Italy and Germany. And perhaps the biggest rivalry for Corvette – especially when looking into the motorsports realm – is Porsche.
The most direct competitor with the C8 Corvette Z06 out of the gate will arguably be the Porsche 911 GT3, which features Porsche’s 4.0L flat-six that screams to an incredible 9,000 RPM to make 502 horsepower. However, we know that the Corvette Z06’s new 5.5L flat-plane crank LT6 V8, which was developed in the back of the IMSA GTLM championship-winning C8.R GTE, beat the 911 RSR in both 2020 and 2021. Upping the ante is upcoming 911 GT3 RS, but it will need some significant boosts if it’s going to get anywhere close to the C8 Z06’s 670 horsepower.
2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 production isn’t expected until summer, but you can bet there will be a bit more news between then and now. Namely, the price. Be sure to check back to MC&T regularly so you don’t miss anything C8 Z06.
