Saturday Football DFS: Divisional Round

Now that the Wild Card round is in the books, it’s time for the Divisional round. For this article, we will be focusing on the Saturday-only DFS slate. To kick off the two-game slate the Tennessee Titans will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals. That game will be followed by the Green Bay Packers hosting the San Francisco 49ers. All these plays will be viable in the Saturday-only slate, as well as showdown slates if you choose to play those. Now without further ado, let’s check out the top players in these two playoff matchups.

Quarterback/Wide Receiver Stack

Joe Burrow (DK 6,600 | FD 7,700)

Ja’Marr Chase (DK 7,100 | FD 8,200)

Burrow and Chase have been a dynamic duo since their time at LSU. That continued in their first playoff game together. Last week, the Bengals led most of the game so they were content on running the clock out and not being as aggressive. However, this week the Titans are favored by 3.5 compared to last week when the Bengals were favored by six points. The Bengals should be forced to go with a pass-heavy game script in this game. Chase is a great deep threat for Burrow having connected six times this year for 50 plus yards. They get a great matchup against the Titans’ secondary. They have allowed 11 passes of 40 plus yards this season. Furthermore, they have allowed 20 receiving touchdowns on the season. Look for Burrow and Chase to keep their connection going in this matchup.

Running Backs

Elijah Mitchell (DK 5,800 | FD 7,300)

The 49ers’ recipe for success is going to be running the ball to keep the Packers’ offense off of the field. Yes, the Packers’ defense has had success stopping the run this season. However, they did allow two rushing touchdowns over the last three weeks of the season. Furthermore, Mitchell has seen at least 21 carries in each of the last three weeks. In those three games, he averaged 100 rushing yards. With Jimmy Garoppolo‘s injuries, expect a heavy dose of Mitchell in this matchup.

Aaron Jones (DK 6,800 | FD 6,800)

Jones and AJ Dillon have been splitting snaps with the game script determining who played the majority of the game. However, this game should be close and favor Jones, especially with him being fully healthy for the first time in weeks. Jones is also an excellent receiver and that will be key in this game. The 49ers have allowed five receptions and 31 receiving yards per game to running backs this year. Furthermore, Jones has seen five receptions in each of the last two games. Look for him to rack up some points tonight.

Wide Receiver

Julio Jones (DK 4,600 | FD 4,600)

Jones had a disappointing season missing nearly half the year because of injuries. Although, with a big playoff run he can make Titans fans forget about his rough season. The good news for the Titans is Jones has been excellent in his playoff career. He has averaged over 100 yards per game and has six total touchdowns in eight career postseason games. A lot of the focus will be on A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry opening up some opportunities for Jones. At his salary, he is an excellent value on this slate.

Tight End

George Kittle (DK 5,300 | FD 5,300)

Kittle is among the best tight ends in the league and is the only elite option on the Saturday slate. From Week 13 to Week 15, Kittle was unstoppable. He turned 28 receptions into 425 yards and three touchdowns. Since then he has yet to have more than 29 yards in a game. However, to beat the Packers, the 49ers are going to have to get Kittle involved. In their Week 3 matchup, he had seven receptions for 92 yards. In three career games against the Packers, Kittle has 251 receiving yards. Look for the 49ers to get Kittle the ball early and often in this game.
