HENNESSEY VELOCIRAPTOR BRONCO 400 BEGINS PRODUCTION, AHEAD OF BRONCO RAPTOR

As the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor debuted this week, Hennessey Performance Engineering has gone ahead to announce that it will begin producing its VelociRaptor Bronco 400 package, with 411 horsepower and a meaty 603 lb-ft of torque from its 2.7L EcoBoost V6. That’s a jump of 81 hp, and 188 lb-ft of torque. Pricing is expected to start at around $80,000, which includes the necessary Bronco Badlands to modify. About 200 are targeted to be made this year.

Hennessey Ford Bronco VelociRaptor 400 achieves its power gains through an all-new intake and exhaust system, engine recalibration tune, and larger front-mounted intercooler system. 0-60 is expected to be just 4.5 seconds.

Looks-wise, the Hennessey Velociraptor Bronco 400 also features a race truck-inspired livery that features both VelociRaptor and Hennessey badging as well as double bonnet stripes that are positioned both on the sides and roof of the vehicle. A number 1 racing decal draws your attention to both driver and passenger door panels and the 35-inch off-road tires on 18-inch Hennessey wheels complete the VelociRaptor signature look. The interior sees embroidered headrests.

Hennessey Performance does not mention anything about suspension, other than it retains off-road modes that come standard on the Badlands edition. So ultimately you’re paying for an engine tune and some graphics. It’s also a change up from the Hennessey F-150 VelociRaptor, which is based on the F-150 Raptor itself. The Bronco VelociRaptor is based on the standard Bronco, and not the Raptor version.

Should you wait for a 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, you’ll get a suite of integrated off-road hardware, such as a completely redone chassis featuring a fully boxed frame for more rigidity, longer travel suspension, Fox Racing Live Valve Dampers, 37-inch KO2 tires, and a larger 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine, with an estimated 400 hp, but that number is expected to climb. Plus, the official BRaptor starts cheaper than the Hennessey Velociraptor, at $69,995 USD.
