Sarah Jessica Parker couldn't avoid the elephant in the room.

The iconic actress finally spoke on Kim Cattrall's absence from the Sex and the City reboot — although she still tried to remain vague when discussing the actresses' rumored beef.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Monday, February 14, Parker sat down with Andy Cohen to talk about the new series And Just Like That…, where she was asked directly about Cattrall's absence, per the New York Post.

"The actress that played the role is no longer playing that role," Parker said of Cattrall's famous character Samantha Jones from the hit HBO show while refusing to mention her by name.

"People aren't absent from your life when you don't want them to be," the 56-year-old actress added, referring to her character Carrie Bradshaw's attempt at reconciling with her old friend via text messages from abroad in the new reboot series.

"I thought [the plot line] mimicked many friendships that challenge each other and struggle and want to remain connected in a way, because it's too painful," she reportedly stated, while seemingly hinting at her estranged friendship with Cattrall.

As OK! reported, Cattrall's choice not to revive her notorious role is believed to have been caused by a rumored rift between the two actresses, although the How I Met Your Father star, 65, has not directly spoken about her reasons for skipping out on the reboot.

A source previously spilled that Cattrall is "still bitter about the way Sarah treated her," and that "she's convinced it was all due to jealousy."

"Sarah would ask Kristin [Davis] and Cynthia [Nixon] to lunch and they’d leave Kim behind, and when she hosted a big party at her home for the cast and crew at the end of the first season, she mysteriously forgot to invite Kim," the insider dished at the time. "Kim felt totally cast off and alone because none of the other women stuck up for her."

"Sarah always wanted to act like they were the best of friends when it came time to do publicity," added the source, as Parker has long insisted there was no bad blood between the two women. "She thinks it's absurd that Kim has held a grudge for so long."
