Simone Biles has got engaged.
The 24-year-old gymnast admitted it was "the easiest yes" she has ever said when Jonathan Owens got down on one knee and popped the question on Valentine's Day (14.02.22) and she can't wait for them to get married.
Sharing a slideshow of Jonathan's proposal, including a video of her new oval-cut diamond ring, which features a diamond-encrusted band, she wrote on Instagram: "THE EASIEST YES I can’t wait to spend forever ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.(sic)"
The 26-year-old NFL star replied in the comments: "Ready for forever with you."
Jonathan also shared photos from the proposal, which were taken by a professional photographer, and revealed he had taken his partner by surprise when he presented her with a ring from Zo Frost.
He wrote: "Woke up this morning with a fiancée.
"Appreciate my dawg @don_julio314 for helping me set everything up, she really had no clue what was coming @zofrost you went crazy on this one bro really made the night special (sic)"
Last August Simone pair tribute to Jonathan for their first anniversary.
She wrote: "oops I forgot to tell you y'all that we've been dating for more than a year so happy past 1 year to the best thing that's ever happened to you: ME (sic)"
Jonathan replied to his girlfriend, writing: "Time flies when your having fun. To many more with you baby (sic)"
Owens had posted messages of support to Simone on social media after she withdrew from a number of events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics due to mental health concerns.
He wrote on Instagram at the time: "Imma ride with you through whatever baby.
"Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB. You always gone be my champ baby and don't you ever forget that (sic)"
Jonathan continued: "I love you so much and I can't wait till you come home and I get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I'm always here for you baby (sic)"
