THIS IS THE LAST 2022 CORVETTE STINGRAY IMSA GTLM CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION

The 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition is celebrates the motorsports achievements of the C8.R racecar, and only 1,000 units were built to be sold. Although the car doesn’t feature a derivative of the 5.5L flat-plane V8 as the racer – that honor goes to the Z06 – the Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition trickles some of the style of the C8.R. Unsurprisingly, these special edition cars caught the eye of collectors and flippers, and even Chevrolet dealerships were caught selling them for $125,000, which was nearly $30,000 more than the MSRP of the vehicle. However, now the last of the IMSA GTLM C8 Corvettes has been built and sent to Criswell Chevrolet in Maryland.

According to Corvette Blogger, the 1,000th 2022 Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship Edition comes to Criswell Chevrolet as an Accelerate Yellow Stingray Convertible. Criswell’s Ken Eastep filmed a video of Mike Furman with the car to show it off. The vehicle has already been purchased and will soon be delivered to the customers. Additionally, there were said to be plans to do a photoshoot of the happy owner with the last special edition Corvette of 2022.

Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship Edition: Details

The 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition cars were offered in Hypersonic Gray and Accelerate Yellow, and buyers could choose between a Coupe and Convertible model. Chevrolet first debuted the special edition Corvette at Belle Isle, ahead of the weekend’s Grand Prix last summer. With a limited number of these cars available, it didn’t take long for them to start selling out.

Owning a special edition model certainly has its benefits as it helps drum up some attention for your car, especially when not much else has changed. Of course, for the 2022 model year, the C8 Corvette has received an engine update along with three new paint colors and adjustments to the aero packages. While it’s been a difficult road with the removal of many desirable options for the 2022 Corvette, it’s still been drawing customers in and has had a very successful year. It remains to be one of the fastest-selling vehicles in the country.
