Lady Gaga 'plans to attend the BAFTA ceremony'

Lady Gaga will make an 11,000-mile round trip for this year's BAFTA ceremony.

The 35-year-old star missed the event in 2019, despite being nominated for a gong - but this time, she intends to fly from the US to London to attend the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.

A source said: "Lady Gaga’s schedule was really hectic when she was nominated for 'A Star Is Born' in 2019 and she just couldn’t face the trip. But after the last two years of almost no showbiz events, she snapped up the invite to come to the biggest night in British film."

The pop singer has been nominated for the Best Actress gong for her role in 'House of Gucci'.

And the event organisers are looking forward to welcoming Gaga on March 13.

The insider told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "She is one of the most famous women in the world, so BAFTA bosses are chuffed she has confirmed she will be flying over for the ceremony.

"Her performance in 'House Of Gucci' was critically acclaimed so there’s every chance she could end up being a winner on the night."

Gaga played the part of Patrizia Reggiani - the Italian socialite who was convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her husband - in the Sir Ridley Scott-directed drama.

And the pop star's mom loved that she stayed in character while she was making the movie.

Asked about her approach to the film, Gaga shared: "I think my mom actually really liked it. She's always embraced this artistic side of me, ever since I was a little girl.

"My father would laugh. I drove some people crazy, of course, but you know, I'm like a child with art and I love to immerse myself."
