2022 Huskers kick off spring practice and meet the press
Nebraska football's spring drills kicked off Monday, and head coach Scott Frost said afterward that it will "be a fight" at quarterback. But Texas transfer Casey Thompson appears to be the early leader.
New offensive coordinator Mark Whipple said Thompson took the first snap Monday with the offense and was the most impressive during the morning practice.
Thompson won't be limited by the thumb injury he suffered last fall while at Texas, Frost said, though it still requires attention from the training staff.
