Looks like someone got restless!
Five years after announcing plans to do a full remodel of her longtime Los Angelos home, Melody Thomas Scott decided to unload her lavish estate for $6.1 million. The veteran actress, best known for her decades-long portrayal of Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless, purchased the property with her husband, Edward Scott, in 2001, paying a seemingly modest $2.3 million at the time.
The 6,080-square-foot Storybook Tudor, located in the exclusive guard-gated community of The Summit atop Mulholland Drive, boasts five bedrooms and eight bathrooms — more than enough space for the soap star, 65, and TV producer, 77, whose three adult children have presumably flown the coop.
Inside, the regal residence features dark hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and beveled-glass windows, bathing the rooms in natural light.
It also seems that the couple did follow through with some of their renovation plans, as the kitchen's been updated with a walk-in pantry and state-of-the-art Viking and Sub-Zero appliances. (No surprise: Scott’s known for entertaining guests and whipping up holiday dishes for her loved ones.)
Additional A-list amenities include a dry sauna, multiple stone fireplaces and a guest suite with its own entrance and private living space. Sitting on nearly half an acre, the abode has an idyllic outdoor area, too.
While the front is devoted to a spacious motor court and three-car garage, the back has an expansive dining section, infinity-edge swimming pool, kitchen, cabana and plenty of grassy stretches for the family dog, Reilly.
But perhaps the most impressive details are the ones that weren’t built: the sweeping mountain and ocean views visible from the garden and balcony.
