FIFA Online 4 is a free-to-play online multiplayer football game released in 2018 across multiple Southeast Asian countries. According to Esports Charts, the FIFAe Champions Cup Spring 2021 recorded a peak viewership of over 25,000. However, Esports Charts does not include viewership figures from Chinese platforms, likely a major region for the title.

Featuring 12 teams across China, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, the EACC will hold two events this year — EACC Spring 2022 and EACC Summer 2022. The tournament’s Spring event will take place from April 18th-24th. Details regarding the tournament’s prize pool have not been revealed.

According to the release, tournament production for both EACC tournaments will be created for audiences in English, Korean, Mandarin, Thai and Vietnamese. In addition, ONE Esports and EA will collaborate to produce content and ‘comprehensive coverage’ of the tournaments.

This content will apparently be made available in local languages and published on ONE Esports’ website.

Jason Teo, Vice President of Business Development at ONE Esports, commented: “We know that a significant portion of ONE Esports fans are passionate about the EA SPORTS FIFA franchise.

“We are excited to execute and bring an action-packed series of tournaments to this passionate and engaged EA SPORTS FIFA Online 4 community across Asia, as well as tell and amplify the stories of their esports heroes.”

Esports Insider says: ONE Esports continues to diversify its portfolio with the addition of EACC. Whilst this may not seem like a major deal to western markets, FIFA Online 4 is prominent in Southeast Asian regions. If the partnership proves to be a success, this could also lead to more collaborations between ONE Esports and EA.
