Derrick Walker Announces Return for Super Senior Season

The Huskers get some much needed consistency at a critical position

Nebrasketball will have their big man back for another season.

Derrick Walker announced on social media Tuesday he would be returning for a super senior year. In the video, Walker talks about being a leader while highlights play. He closes with the iconic Michael Jordan line of "I'm back."

Undersized for a Big Ten big at 6-foot-9, Walker's play is bigger than his height.

The Kansas City native was the only Husker to start all 32 games last season, where he shot 68.3 percent from the field. That shooting percentage broke the single-season record at NU which had stood since the 1975-76 season.

Walker's return gives coach Fred Hoiberg consistency in the post with Eduardo Andre in the transfer portal and incoming junior college product Blaise Keita set for his first division 1 experience.
