Following a wild tournament full of thrill and shock, the two remaining squads left standing are determined to win the NCAA championship. North Carolina, an underdog program this season led by head coach Hubert Davis, and the Kansas Jayhawks, a top-seeded team out of the Big 12. Both teams mustered their way to the final dance and will feud to obtain a national title. In 11 meetings between the two programs, North Carolina holds the upper hand by a count of 6-5.
In a theory that seemed illogical, no one came to the conclusion that these two teams would meet. While Kansas did grasp the one seed in the Midwest, many conceived Arizona to make the big run. However, with veteran coach Bill Self, the Jayhawks seemed to be invincible. With a resilient and determined approach to the game, Self has conducted the Jayhawks since 2003.
On the opposing side, the Tar Heels set foot in the tournament as the No. 8 seed in the East Region. Following the retirement of everlasting coach Roy Williams, no one expected Hubert Davis to make a run for the big prize. Nevertheless, both sides have had quite the journey and will settle it once and for all this season for the rights to a national championship on Monday night.

Kansas
On one hand, the Jayhawks had no issue in the first round. Even with Texas Southern playing in Fort Worth, the Jayhawks obliterated the Tigers by a landslide. However, the Jayhawks encountered some competition in the next few rounds from the Creighton Bluejays and Providence Friars. The Jayhawks still had no problem grasping victories. Conducted by star guard Ochai Agbaji and a remarkable stretch by Remy Martin, Kansas appeared to be indestructible. In addition, David McCormack and Jalen Wilson were major assets to the Jayhawks’ offense and should not be slept on. The Kansas approach in this contest is important, coming off a major win over the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats. The Jayhawks dominated the Wildcats in every aspect and now seek the honors of cutting down the nets.
North Carolina
A team nobody envisioned past the opening two rounds, the Tar Heels have become a force to reckoned with. Opening the tournament with a bang, the Tar Heels manhandled the No. 9 seed Marquette Golden Eagles. Following the victory, North Carolina had the pleasure to face the top-seeded Baylor Bears. In a contest that seemed disproportionate, the Tar Heels came in locked and loaded. In a game that concluded in an overtime thriller, the UNC grabbed the victory by a seven-point margin. Led by RJ Davis and Brady Manek, the Tar Heels came through when it mattered most.
To round it all off, North Carolina went neck and neck with Mike Krzyzewski and his Duke Blue Devils to determine the spot for the national championship. Escorted by Caleb Love‘s 28-point night and Armando Bacot‘s 21-rebound parade, the Tar Heels outmatched the Blue Devils, concluding Coach K’s historic career. Both of these squads convey a ton of talent, ambitious to seize a national title. Two profound head coaches are ready to tango. In a game held in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, both programs will exhibit their case for a national title. North Carolina hopes to obtain their seventh title and Kansas is in pursuit of their fourth.
