PROOF THAT WE CAN EXPECT A RIGHT HAND DRIVE CORVETTE Z06

The regular C8 Corvette Stingray is supposed to arrive in Australia this year, with the RHD models getting built straight from the Bowling Green Assembly plant. Of course, we knew we would be expecting the RHD Corvette Z06 to be made, and now there’s undeniable proof that it will be a thing.

Daryl Wizinsky posted a video on his Instagram account that showcases a running C8 Corvette Z06 sitting in a parking lot, with a red interior, white exterior paint, and the steering on the right side of the car. Wizinsky gives us a walk-around of the vehicle to prove that it’s authentic. He did make a minor hiccup and called the C8 Corvette a C6, but you don’t have to be an enormous car enthusiast to know the difference.

General Motors Special Vehicles (GMSV) – the import company tasked with selling GM vehicles in Australia and New Zealand – filed for the Z06 trademark a year ago to better explain what we’re seeing, which provides even more undeniable proof that the record-breaking car would be making its way overseas. Already, the C8 Corvette Stingrays have made their way to the massive island nation of Australia, and once production kicks off for the Z06, we’re bound to start seeing the legendary car in the land down under as well.

2023 Corvette Z06: Engine Specs

The 2023 Corvette Z06 has an impressive 670 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from its 5.5L LT6 DOHC V8 engine, spinning at up to 8,600 RPM. The engine is the most powerful naturally aspirated DOHC V8 to reach production. The LT6 stands above the legendary 6.2L Mercedes-Benz M159 in the SLS AMG Black Series, which had 622 horsepower, and the 4.5L F136 FL V8 engine in the Ferrari 458 Speciale that had 597 horsepower. In addition, it has nearly 150 ponies more than the beloved Ford Voodoo V8 engine in the Mustang Shelby GT350, which had 526 horsepower. So, it’s exhilarating to see that it won’t be long before we see the C8 Corvette Z06 in RHD countries.
