There’s good news and bad news for the Dallas Mavericks as the NBA’s playoffs get ready to begin.
The good: The team secured the fourth seed in the Western Conference and will host a first-round playoff series.
The bad: MVP candidate Luka Doncic hurt his knee in the season finale against the Spurs.
A drive to the lane ended with him banging knees with the Spurs’ Zach Collins; he immediately left with what’s being called a strained left calf.
More good news: With such a high seed the Mavs will have about a week off before their series against the Utah Jazz begins—which will most likely be on Saturday. Furthermore, the team is optimistic that the injury is not major.
