MLB DFS: Two For Tuesday

We have two late games tonight as the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Houston Astros and the San Francisco Giants host the San Diego Padres. It is an extremely short slate, but we can pick out a few players who need to be in your lineups whether you do the slate or a Showdown for the Padres-Giants tilt. Let’s get started breaking down a few picks to win some money.

Check out all of our MLB DFS coverage.

The Arm:

*Luis Garcia](https://www.baseball-reference.com/search/search.fcgi?pid=garcilu03,garcilu04,garcilu05,garcilu02,garcilu01,garcia023lui,garcia022lui,garcia028lui,garcia029lui,garcia017lui,garcia021lui&search=Luis+Garcia&utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=&utm_medium=referral): $9,400 DK*

Houston’s starter was very good last season for the Astros striking out 167 in 155.1 innings with a 3.48 ERA. He gets to face an anemic offense tonight. The Diamondbacks have scored just 11 runs in four games. They have also struck out 25 percent of the time. Garcia should be good for some K’s and if he keeps the ball in the yard, he will put up more points than the other three starters on the slate.

The Sticks:

*Brandon Belt](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/beltbr01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=&utm_medium=referral): $4,900 DK*

Belt may be the most expensive first baseman tonight. However, he owned right-handed pitchers last season with 25 home runs and a 1.008 OPS against them. He has only faced Yu Darvish 14 times but has three hits including a homer against him. He is batting second in the lineup tonight as well which will give him more opportunities to stack up the points.

*Mike Yastrzemski](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/y/yastrmi01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=&utm_medium=referral): $3,800 DK (Captain if in Showdown at $7,600)*

We will take the leadoff hitter for the Giants tonight and go a little contrarian in DFS facing the top pitcher in Darvish. Yaz finally broke through with his first hit yesterday. He, like Belt, also has hit righties very well. In 2021, he had an .848 OPS with 23 of his 25 home runs coming off of right-handers. Stacking Belt and Yastrzemski against a highly-owned pitcher like Darvish should pay dividends, especially in tournaments.

The Bargain:

*Jose Herrera](https://www.baseball-reference.com/search/search.fcgi?pid=herrejo04,herrejo02,herrejo01,herrer020jos&search=Jose+Herrera&utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=&utm_medium=referral), C, Diamondbacks, $2,000*

Although he is batting ninth, Herrera won the backup job and got his first taste of the majors out of the way. Last season at Triple-A and Double-A, the 25-year-old had a solid .364 OBP with 11 homers. He can help you afford some of the more expensive guys tonight and may even contribute a few points.
