CSGO pros cadiaN and gla1ve get in physical altercation at ESL Pro League

The action continued off-stage at ESL Pro League Season 15, with pro CSGO players cadiaN and gla1ve allegedly getting in a physical altercation during the major.

Esports journalist Richard Lewis discussed the incident in the most recent episode of his Pop Flash CSGO podcast. According to Lewis, he received some information from an insider at the ESL Pro League, stating that the drama "spilled over backstage," with one pro player even "jumping across a sofa" to fight the other until someone intervened.

cadiaN plays for Heroic and gla1ve for Astralis both as in-game leaders. These are two very prominent members of the CSGO esports scene, making the altercation even more shocking to the community. It's unclear who started the fight and nobody exactly knows just yet what happened backstage.

If what Lewis revealed is true, however, cadiaN and gla1ve would both receive some type of punishment or penalty for the fight. The official ESL rulebook states that unsportsmanlike conduct is not allowed, although physical violence is not stated specifically. ESL administrators will be able to decide the fate of the two veterans, which could even lead to them being banned from ESL events completely.

cadiaN and gla1ve have shared heated words in the past, although the drama is usually just online. In 2020 — at the height of the coaching bug accusations — cadiaN stated that he and his teammates were unaware that coach HUNDEN had been using the camera glitch. gla1ve responded at the time that cadiaN's statement was in poor taste. Since then, the two have openly disliked each other and taken shots at each other online. But it's not clear what exactly led to the physical fight at the major.

Neither have discussed the matter on social media.
