New run-boost molotov on Overpass lets CTs block off T spawn

If you thought Overpass was dated and boring, this new utility should change your mind. A fantastic run-boost molotov on Overpass is making the rounds and spawning some wild theory-crafting.

Overpass is one of the oldest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive maps. The complex double-story location requires elaborate tactics and plans. However, CSGO has only five types of thrown weaponry, so strategies can sometimes become repetitive. Despite a complicated layout, Overpass is old enough to have seen all sorts of strategies.

The Copenhagen Flames has introduced a strategy that could revolutionize how the map is played. During the CSGO PGL Regional Major Ranking event, the team showed off a new molotov lineup that is unlike anything seen before. It’s tough to replicate but worth every second of practice.

For the T side, attacking B site on Overpass is comparatively easy. The attackers often go for a B-site take to get the bomb plant without giving up player advantage. It may be tricky for Counter-Terrorists to stifle a hard push effectively but this new run-boost molotov changes everything.

The molotov begins from the CT spawn and requires two players for the run-boost. The player on top equips an incendiary and lines it up with the ground. Once the setup is ready, both players run forward and toss the grenade as soon as the crosshair nears the truck. CPH Flames’ incendiary landed right at the stairs towards monster.

This broken molotov did precisely what it was tossed for. The Ts had to wait for the fire to go away before they could walk further. A smoke on top of molotov further slowed them down, wasting ample round time. The unique run-boost molotov Overpass has now gone viral among the dedicated fans and has even gotten the attention of CSGO itself.

It’s unknown who originally devised this setup, but many players claim to be the inventor. Popular CSGO content creator Nadeking also shared his video from 2020 that included a detailed guide for this incendiary. Another player claimed to have used this lineup first during a FACEIT game.

Whatever the case, this molotov has proven that CSGO utility may be limited, but it’s still powerful when used creatively. The five grenades are capable of facilitating complex strategies that may continue to surprise both casual and professional CSGO players.
