2022 FORD F-150 LIGHTNING SOLD OUT OF ALL TRIMS

If you haven’t placed an order for a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning yet, you’re likely not going to get your hands on one at this point. Demand is and has been sky high for Ford’s first all-electric truck and the company has officially closed the order books for the 2022 Lightning. This news comes very shortly after the truck’s cheapest trims sold out just a week ago. The truck racked up 200,000 reservations before Ford had to close the books.

Don’t take our word for it, Ford’s build and price tool, while still active, mentions that the 2022 model year is no longer available due to high demand. You could contact your local dealer to see if they have any hiding out you might be able to scoop up but even then you’d probably incur some laughable markup due to its scarcity. The F-150 Lightning officially began production on April 26th and the company has sold out of all four of its Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims for 2022.

Some good news though, Cars Direct mentions that you should be eligible to order a 2023 model F-150 Lightning starting this summer with expected production on next year’s model beginning later this fall. Whether it will be the same price or something more expensive remains unknown at this time. Just as a point of reference though at the time of this writing the cheapest 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, the Pro, has a listed MSRP of $39,974 and the most expensive trim, the Platinum, is set at $90,874.

Ford’s first all-electric truck made its debut in May of last year. Since then it has received thumbs up from a massive audience some of which include celebrities like “The Rock ” and has brought new members to the Ford family in bulk. While order books for 2022 are closed Ford has already mentioned they are bolstering production capabilities and plan on being able to produce up to 80,000 units a year which would aid in the disparity between supply and demand that currently exists.
