One modification people enjoy making on their vehicles is switching out their exhaust. If you have the right car, there are plenty of options to choose from which can help you get the exact sound you want from your vehicle when revving up the engine or accelerating down a racetrack. This C7 Chevrolet Corvette featured a Capristo Exhaust and made its way onto a track back in 2018.
Covered in a rainbow exterior with a high wing spoiler, this C7 will catch some attention on its own, but once paired with the exhaust, its volume level will pull the spotlight away from the other cars like the Lamborghini and Ferrari in the video. Additionally, when the driver lets off the gas, you can hear the aggressive pops from the exhaust, which also works to amplify the sound.
The C7 Corvette was at the 2018 SupercarSunday in Assen and took on a few drag races, as well as did a few laps around the racetrack. If you’re unsatisfied with the noise when the Corvette is in an open area, then fret not, as the video also showcases the car in a tunnel, lined up behind a Ford Focus RS and Ferrari. This is where the Capristo Exhaust truly shines, as you really can’t hear anything besides the C7 in the tunnel, roaring like the predator it is.
C7 Corvette: Details
The C7 Corvette Stingray featured a 6.2L LT1 V8 engine at the front that offers 455 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque as its baseline output. The engine was paired with either a Tremec TR-6070 7-speed manual with active rev-matching (ARM) for downshifts and upshifts or a Hydramatic 6L80 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission optimized for Active Fuel Management, but was eventually replaced by the GM 8L90 eight-speed automatic. Out of the box, the C7 Stingray capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 in around 4 seconds, depending on which transmission it has. In addition, the adaptive dampers with Magnetic Ride Control offered more settings than on the previous generation, which made road comfort even greater.
