Felix "xQc" Lengyel recently took to Discord to take back his previous apology for including gambling on his Twitch streams. The self-proclaimed gambling addict has decided that he is back to gambling full force and doesn't care what his viewers think about it.
In the Discord rant, xQc added that he is fine with fans watching other streamers instead if they truly have an issue or are "hurt" with him gambling on Twitch once again. But it seems it's not just fans that are expressing concern with the amount of gambling on the streaming platform.
YouTuber Sykkuno recently stated that he refuses to gamble on stream or include gambling in his content. On May 18, Sykkuno said on a roughly five-hour stream that the "gambling meta" taking over Twitch won't be influencing him to take part any time soon.
Sykkuno was afraid of saying too much about the topic since many of his friends are the ones taking part in the controversial activity. But Sykkuno added that every time he opens up Twitch he sees that the "top five English streamers" are "just gambling."
“When you have three out of your top five English-speaking streamers doing that it’s... I don’t know, man. I feel like Twitch... I don’t know, it is what it is," Sykkuno mumbled.
Sykkuno appeared more frustrated with Twitch's Terms of Service rather than his friends for gambling. Twitch has continued to allow streamers to use gambling sites on stream and even be sponsored by gambling companies. This has led many streamers to promote gambling sites by "winning" on a site they are sponsored by, something that has been harshly criticized by many in the streaming community for misleading young, impressionable fans.
Sykkuno told his fans that he will "never" be gambling, but seemed embarrassed to talk about gambling even more. He said he "didn't want to make it weird" but it's clear that Sykkuno is one of the streamers on board with Twitch cracking down on this type of content.
