A new leak shows that the Warzone 2 map will be a complete switch-up from the current battleground.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been confirmed, but not much is known yet about the highly anticipated battle royale. Per usual, however, leakers have gotten their hands on some interesting information before Activision Blizzard’s official confirmation. This time, fans have been given an early look at the possible new map.
Warzone 2 is coming in 2023, which means fans will have a lot of time to study this new map before the game is released. Of course, Blizzard hasn’t confirmed that this map is official so keep that in mind before checking out the leaked points of interest.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 map POIs revealed
Industry insider Tom Henderson has revealed a first glimpse at the upcoming map for Call of Duty: Warzone 2. It was initially shared on Try Hard Guides along with a rough sketch of the battle royale location.
The unnamed map includes a lot of interesting new elements for dynamic gameplay. This includes a large area of water on the bottom that players can swim through, a new mechanic that Henderson leaked last week. The black line is a railway line, which will possibly provide new mobility options.
The POIs coincide with a previous leak that speculated that the new Warzone map will be inspired by the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. Some of the POIs that seem inspired by the original game include Afghan, Highrise, Terminal, and Quarry.
“Of course, a basic map drawing does not give justice to the scale of the map, but from my impressions it does seem bigger than that of Verdansk and Caldera, especially considering if the grid reference is accurate,’ Henderson said.
For now, this map is purely a leak. Activision Blizzard has not confirmed what the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 map will entail, but Henderson has been spot-on with previous leaks. That makes this a pretty exciting early look at what is possibly coming.
