Justice Department Agents Search Home Of Trump Ally Jeffrey Clark In Jan. 6 Probe

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 28: Jeffrey Bossert Clark, nominee to be an assistant Attorney General, Environment and Natural Resources Division, looks on during a Senate Judiciary Committee nomination hearing concerning judicial nominations, on...

Federal agents searched former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark‘s home in Lorton, Virginia, on Wednesday morning, according to officials.

“The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., can confirm there was law enforcement activity in that area yesterday,” a spokesperson said. They were unable to comment on any further details.

Clark has been a longstanding ally of former President Donald Trump, including furthering his claims that the election was “rigged” with voter fraud and “stolen” from him. Trump tried to elevate Clark’s position to attorney general in the days leading up to the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack making it clear that Clark played a key role in Trump’s plan to involve the Justice Department in his plan to raise concerns of voter fraud and stay in office despite being defeated by President Joe Biden.

This is a developing story.
