Summer is in full swing, and in Michigan, that means a bustling Woodward Avenue packed with all varieties of enthusiastic automobiles. From quirky vans, to Japanese Kei cars, to the most exotic of European supercars. And of course, more than anything, American muscle. This time of year is when Dodge really lets its hair down and gets in full party mode, highlighted by the annual Roadkill Nights, which Dodge continues to put together in cooperation with Motor Trend. Taking place Saturday, August 13, the event is centered around legal, closed-course racing on Woodward Avenue, hosted by the M1 Concourse in Pontiac. But this awesome event is just the beginning of six days of celebrating car culture, apexing at the Woodward Dream Cruise taking place August 21. Dodge will be holding it down at the very north end of the 21.48-mile stretch of historic road#Cultural_significance), which runs from Detroit to Pontiac. And they’re calling it Speed Week.

Monday, August 15: New Variants Of Today’s Dodge Charger, Challenger
After a restful Sunday following Saturday’s Roadkill Nights, Dodge will show its existing muscle car lineup some love on Monday, August 15. The brand has been able to keep a lid on exactly what we can expect, which could mean that there’s nothing too drastic on the way. Perhaps another collectable appearance package, or some kind of send-off edition for both the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger muscle cars.

Following Monday, the Dodge Hornet will debut on Tuesday, August 16. The brand is going as far as to say it’s a “Gateway Muscle” product, but nobody should be expecting a Hemi. Instead, this small SUV, which will share a common architecture with the Alfa Romeo Tonale and future Wagoneer product, is expected to have a four cylinder engine working in tandem with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. the Dodge Hornet will launch as a 2023 model, and is expected to be built in Italy.
Wednesday, August 17: Electric Dodge Muscle Car Concept
Dodge first teased its “eMuscle” car almost exactly a year ago, during the massive Stellantis EV Day presentation. Its very well the future of the brand, and some rumors put this Dodge electric vehicle at around 1,000 horsepower, and could have acceleration numbers that rival even the Tesla Model S Plaid. Still, consider its reveal a delayed one. Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis originally planned to debut this production-intent concept car in the first quarter of 2022, but supply chain issues forced the brand to punt. A full production version of this upcoming product is set to debut at the end of 2023, as a 2024 model year product. The current Dodge Charger and Challenger products – which have been wildly successful for the brand in recent years – are expected to be discontinued by then.
