Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Spreads Conspiracy That July 4 Shooting Was ‘False Flag’ Operation

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 27: Protestors hold an effigy of former President Donald Trump as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) speaks during a news conference outside the U.S. Department of Justice on July 27, 2021 in Washington, DC. The group of...

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) went on her video blog MTG Live to falsely claim the July 4 shootings in Philadelphia and Highland Park, Illinois, were false flag shootings carried out by progressives.

“Two shootings on July 4th, one in a rich, white neighborhood and the other at a fireworks display,” Greene stated. “It almost sounds like it’s designed to persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control.

“I mean, after all, remember, we didn’t see that happen at all the Pride parades in the month of June,” she continued.

She stated that as soon as “MAGA Month” came around, there were mass shootings around affluent neighborhoods.

“As soon as we hit MAGA month, as soon as we hit the month that we’re all celebrating, loving our country, we have shootings on July 4th,” Greene said. “I mean, that’s, you know, that would sound like a conspiracy theory, right? Of course. But what’s the definition of right-wing conspiracy theory? Well, by the way, it’s the news that’s just six months early.”

This is not the first time Greene has promoted false rumors. In the past, the congresswoman has told her audience on MGT Live that a nationwide tampon shortage was due to transgender men.
