LeBron James Calls Celtics Fans Racist – See Top Fan Reactions

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - MAY 19: LeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers dribbles during the first half of an NBA Tournament Play-In game against the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center on May 19, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. NOTE...

Let’s just say LeBron James won’t be taking his basketball talents to Boston anytime soon – even though he’s a small stake Red Sox owner.

On an episode of the podcast The Shop  the Los Angeles Lakers forward was asked why he dislikes Boston Celtics fans so much.

In response, James said, “they racist as f—.”

“They will say (anything) and it’s fine,” he added.

“I mean, f—, it’s my life. It’s s— I’ve been dealing with my whole life. I don’t mind it. Like, I hear it. Like if I hear somebody, like, close by, I’ll check ’em real quick. I move on to the game.”

Some even took a jab at James’ ownership of Fenway Sports Group, the parent company of the Red Sox.

Another user tweeted: “If LeBron truly thinks Boston fans are “racist as f— he should immediately divest his Fenway Sports Group ownership – sorry”

Meanwhile, the words come after he said in 2017 during the postseason that he did not recall being a victim of racism.

“I’ve heard a couple of athletes say that you expect that when you go Boston,” James said.

He added, “I’ve been to Boston. I’ve played in Boston a lot. I can’t recall hearing something that was racism towards me.”

The NBA schedule is expected to be released in the next month.

If he plays in Boston next year, the perception from the fans will be interesting.
