Husker Punter Brian Buschini Named to Ray Guy Award Watch List

Sophomore transfer won equivalent honor at FCS level last season

Nebraska's Brian Buschini was named Wednesday to the 49-man preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award, presented each year to the nation's top punter.

The sophomore transfer already has a national honor under his belt. He was named the 2021 FCS Punter of the Year and a first-team All-American at Montana, a Football Championship Subdivision school.

At Montana, Buschini averaged 45.8 yards on 75 career punts. He had 30 punts of 50 or more yards, and he placed 35 of his punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

Buschini transferred to Nebraska over the winter and took part in spring drills. He joins fellow Huskers Luke Reimer and Ochaun Mathis as preseason watch list honorees.
